AA Membership

My partner has a Lloyds TSB Platinum account and this includes AA membership. Two years ago he rang the AA to see if he was registered and was told he wasn't. He was then persuaded to take out separate AA membership as he needs his van for his job.
He has recently discovered that is Lloyds TSB Platinum account does also cover him for AA membership and is paid through his account fee. He has therefore been paying twice over for his membership as a result of what he was told by the AA.
When he rang the AA they were most unhelpful and refused to consider any refund. They said that people who have membership through bank accounts are not registered on the computer system of the salespeople. I think that He can claim that he was misinformed when he was sold the membership but I'm not sure how to take this forward in the most effective way. Any suggesions?

I don't think there is a lot you can do. He should have queried it with the bank at the time before paying out more money.
We used to pay for our account at lloyds until we realised that the benefits we got with the account worked out far more expensive than buying direct with the companies whose services we used.
The AA cover costs us far less than the annual fee lloyds cost and many of the other benefits were no use to us anyway.
We pay approx £80 pa for AA cover and that covers us for both our cars, my DH's van he uses for his work and our caravan.0
