How can I get my laptop onto my tv please?
I have an HDMI port on the laptop but the tv isn't HD.
VGA to Scart?
Do they do a HDMI to scart lead?
Oh, the TV has NO INPUTS, it's a separate tuner.

S-Video and the red and yellow (audio) is what i use on mine, although you'll need a 3mm jack to red and yellow, 3mm jack into the laptops speaker / headphone port and the yellow and red into the TV0

Oh my that sounds complimicated.
Can you please give me a link to such a thing?0 -
S-Video cable - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5M-GOLD-S-VIDEO-SVHS-S-VHS-Cable-Male-Lead-TV-DVD-UK-/360375855645?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item53e8132a1d
you'd need to check that both your laptop and TV have s-video. If they do then that will transfer the picture
jack to RCA - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5M-Gold-3-5mm-Stereo-Jack-2-Male-RCA-Phono-Cable-/280506696452?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item414f808304
that transfers the sound from your speaker output to the TV's audio input0 -
Thank you kind sir.0

S-Video is a bit long in the tooth now... I'd wager that if your laptop has HDMI then it won't have S-Video and even if if does its probably going to look horrible on a big Plasma display.
I've never come across an Hitachi Plasma Display but most of the tuner boxes I've seen (mostly Pioneer) have had more connection options than just Scart so that it could display in higher definition or better quality than composite video/Scart can provide. All usually have Component video input (YPbPr) and most VGA connector.
If your laptop has a VGA connector and your tunerbox has component input you could use something like this
If however your laptop has only HDMI and your display has component input you need a converter box similar to this.
Either of these options will provide a much better result than any composite video or scart signal.0 -
