  • Hi my husband just bought me the Advent 7111 and when setting it up my son noticed it has a missing pixel, do you think we should take it back to the shop.
I have no idea if this is important or not
  • I think it's a quite good deal, depending on what chipset it is it could be even better. If you have a certain chipset you'll be able to upgrade to any of the present or future core2duo catalogue

You could try however I believe that there was a legal challenge about this some time back and some ruling came out about the number of dead pixels that were considered to be acceptable before it could be determined as being faulty ... sorry, but I have no idea what it was. I would suggest taking it back if it is annoying you.

I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!
  • I think that they are allowed to have 3 dead pixels so long as they are a certain distance apart, before the item would be classed as faulty.

I would take it back and try your luck.
  • Thanks I know what to expect now when I do ask to change it Lol.
  • Did you get this?

I got one for my parents just after Christmas. It sounds like its already faulty. There is a strange clicking coming from inside. And Word documents won't close , so it won't shutdown properly - you can only hibernate.

Looks like I'm due a long drive down to see them to try and sort it out.
