Well can you please define the proper bank and building societies ?
and please can i have the list of the building societies and proper banks ,
i would really appreciate that as i am looking forward to open up an account.

And never has been.
Although, to make things confusing, NatWest came about from a merger between the National Provincial Bank and Westminster Bank about 40-odd years ago, from memory.
And there used to be a completely unrelated building society called the National & Provincial, which was taken over by Abbey National in the nineties.
But no, in answer to your question, NatWest isn't a building society and never has been. If there's a 'plc' in there, it's not a building society.Everyone needs something to believe in.

... and if theres such uncompetitive products in their as Natwest's it isn't a building society either (usually)
