Will Tesco renege on their compensation promises?

    Another day is nearly over and still no sign of the promised compensation in my account.

    It is surely a simple thing for Tesco Bank to credit a customer's account with a measly £20 or thereabouts.

    PLEASE NOTE: Still no-one has reported receiving their promised compensation. Anyone?

    YES!!

    I freely admit that my suspicions were ill-founded.

    It is pleasing to report that upon checking my account, I discovered that Tesco Bank has honoured its promise and paid me the agreed compensation today. :j

    So, credit where it's due - thank you, Tesco Bank.

    I hope others are equally successful.

    Just letting you know I got the compensation payment today, fairplay to Tesco's Bank :T

    Unlike Tesco' Bank I did get back to you to let you know the outcome ;)

    P.S. I used your line 'In business, we honour pledges made during telephone discussions' when I spoke with them, I am not as good as you with wording things like that, so thank you.

    It's pleasing to learn that you, too, have received what you were promised. :beer:

    I am one of the fortunate people who now have everything working OK. I intend staying with Tesco Bank: I had no complaints until the recent unpleasantness, and their savings rate remains competitive.

    Update...

    To RENARD and all.

    My account has been credited with the compensation agreed with them. I will probably stay with them as i wasn't in such a financial state as most of you were in. The worst part of it all was the lack of communication plus the frustration of hanging on the phone for eternity. However any more b***s up and i'm off!!!

    I would expect they record the phone calls so they should be able to dig that out as proof on your behalf?
