Depends which hotel.We also had mossie plug ins and the candles for outdoors.
THe burning mosquito coils are the best choice. About 20p for a pack of 5 from an Indonesian supermarket, get the XL ones to burn all night.0 -
We don't stay in high end hotels anymore, the more we visit Bali the cheaper we seem to be getting, a bit different for a honeymoon though as you want it to be very special :-) Personally I'm not fussed with evening 'turn down service' I find too many staff visits intrusive. A good 3 star property is fine for us, but having said that the prices are eeking up even in budget hotels. Was recently chatting to a young Singaporean bloke at our 550,000 rups a night budget hotel and he said not long ago they were charging 150,000 a night. We have come a long way since our first visit and stayed in Nusa Dua.0

If you are seriously considering the Marina Bay Sands hotel, then I would seriously recommend reading the reviews on Tripadvisor as it has had real issues since opening and I've heard poor first hand reports.
Based on my experiences of various hotels in Singapore, my recommendation for a honeymooning couple would be an Executive room at the Conrad Centennial.
Not only are the rooms excellent with hideously comfortable feather laiden King beds, but the service is top drawer and the Exec lounge food, beverages and benefits are the best I have seen in any Exec or Club lounge anywhere in the world.
Exec Lounge benefits are as follows but not limited to, all day Tea/Coffee/soft drinks and house alcoholic beverages, a great hot buffet breakfast, afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, tea cakes, nibbles, fancies, etc, evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, wi-fi, fruit in the room daily, really classy toiletries, etc ....... And you'll get choccies and a wee bear on arrival, awwww ........ Heck they even let you keep the rubber duck from the bathroom.
It's worth remembering that the exchange rate is currently two Sing Dollars to the GBP following its decline from three Sing Dollars to the GBP over the last four years, whch has effectively seen goods, food, drink etc increase in price by 50% for a tourists trading their GBP's to Sing Dollars.The MSE Dictionary

I agree about Marina Bay Sands, we were going to stay there but the reviews of it are awful.
We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental and I'd definitely recommend it. We had a club level suite and it is definitely worth the club level. The breakfast included champagne and the eggs benedict and strawberry waffles were amazing. Free soft drinks throughout the day, afternoon tea, evening snacks with cocktails, alcohol and champagne. The staff and the service throughout the hotel was excellent. The room wasn't quite to my taste (I'd have liked a bit more modern) but the suite was lovely. The pool is also very good with huge daybeds and pod like loungers with an excellent view of Singapore.0 -

I might be wrong, but I believe the OP has already booked accommodation and was only going to visit Marina Bay for dinner....0 -

Yeah thats correct - we're staying in the Traders as we're only there for three days so didn't want to splash out too much as we'll be quite busy in Singapore I'd imagine (as long as theres a bed and a shower
)
Thanks everyone for the recommendations, I've bought some repel 100 from amazon, and will get the coils when I'm in Bali
We'll be checking out the dances in Bali, and also going to head to the elephant safari park and get a driver for touring a couple of the days - all the drivers I can find cater for 7 people though, we'll only need a smaller car for 2 if possible. I think we might wait til we get there before booking though.
I emailed to book a table at KuDeTa but its too far in advance and they asked to email back nearer the time. It looks nice with great views of the city at night. Anyone been?0
