for small purchases over the year its Topcashback to avoid the £5 fee then its a choice between them and quidco for the highest payout

on either site its best to avoid using vouchers sourced elsewhere as well as the link to the retailer as the code may be afilliate exclusive and you will lose the cashback to that affiliate.

its also "best practice" to use a different browser to normal , ie Google Chrome or Firefox , to avoid coflicting cookies etc , do your research on your normal browser but switch to the other to use the cashback site

as far as I was aware the £5 comes out of the first savings you make that year. So if you don't make- it doesn't get taken.
I have saved £340 with another £30 tracked. Most of this is through expedia and hotels.com. I also get my contact lenses online. I don't use these companies just because they are on quidco. I will have researched and be booking with them anyway.
Is it worth it??? If you get money back for buying what you would anyway then there isn't really a question to answer is there?

That's 100% correct, but if you only earn say £10 per year then Quidco would take their £5 first before you recieve any cashback.
With Topcashback you would receive the full £10 amount with no annual fee. So in this instance you would be 100% better off.
That's without considering that Topcashback pay more everytime (for listed merchants) - ie: they will match anyones rate if higher and ALSO pay a minimum of 1% above that rate as well.

I made less than five pounds and they still take it, it's just not the full £5. I prefer Topcashback.
  • I use both quidco and topcashback, usually topcashback are slightly higher but I prefer the quidco way of paying, they do it once a month, with topcashback you have to keep checking your account, then you can request payments twice a month

Quidco actually pay twice a month. :D

I joined about 3 years ago and have earned nearly £600 in cashback. Every weekly Tesco shop I do through Quidco and earn a few pounds. If anyone in my family wants virgin or sky, I sign them up and earn loads. I do insurance quotes and earn money from the quotes, not actually taking the insurance. I do lovefilm trials and earn cashback. New phone contracts offer loads of cash back. When we book holidays I book the travelodge through Quidco. You will be surprised how much you can earn from just doing the stuff you already do.
  • personally, after my experiences with cashback sites, my advice to anyone would be, avoid them like the plague! my latest disappointment came via tickbox cashback, which promised £90 cashback if i took out a life insurance policy with LV, and maintained it for 6 months. i followed all instructions to the LETTER, now i find out after waiting the required 6 months that LV have invalidated my transaction, and tickbox have reversed the cashback on my account,NO REASON GIVEN. just to add insult to injury, i cannot submit a ticket to challenge this decision, because more than 180 days have passed, even though i had to maintain the plan for 6 months before any cashback would be paid. contacting tickbox is astonishingly difficult: no email address, no phone number, just a load of so-called help pages. i eventually found, hidden in the depths of the site, a contact form, which i filled in and sent back, but so far, no reply! (no real surprise there, either). i can say with certainty i will NEVER use a cashback site again, they are a complete waste of time and effort.
