Proof of I.D for Halifax current account

I've applied for a current account with Halifax which was accepted but I'm having trouble with proving my I.D. All I have is a provisional driving license and since I'm only 20 and still living at home I don't have any bills. They tried looking for me on the electrol roll but could not find me. I have a savings account with them and had a statement but they cant accept it unless its with another bank:huh:
I found my Jobseekers acceptance letter from last July but not sure if I can use that. My only other option would be to apply for a passport which will cost £77.50 which I dont want to spend since I hardly ever go abroad and need to save my money since my 6 month work placement comes to an end in July.

Most banks that accept JSA documents usually require them to be less than 3 months old.0

Anything from HMRC except for P45, P60s.
Letter from DWP within last 3 months should be acceptable.
Check why they cannot accept your savings account, is it because it was opened when you were under 18?0 -
Generally banks do not accept their own official comms (statements, letters etc) as proof of iD when applying for another of their products.
Same happened to me when I was a student and had limited proof of ID. HSBC needed to see two proofs; my passport was one but they wouldn't accept my HSBC bank statement as the 2nd, and they were my only bank at the time.
May be a letter from your work placement might do it?0 -
Probably won't help you now.....
but note for the future that being listed on the Electroral roll really is essential to make life easier for you - and actually its an offence not to be on it if you should be)0 -
Ask your local tax office for a Tax coding letter.0
