Insurance dropped by £200 :D

I'm 19 and drive a 1998 106, I passed my test last september and got the 10 month excellerated bonus insurance with Admiral (with no extras,so no courtesy car etc) and fully comp. Estimated 6,000 miles a year and no immoboliser, using for commuting, pleasure etc, anyway, it came out at £980, I just had my letter through to renew with them and its come out at £750 (rounded.) this is with a courtesy car, £1,250 of stereo cover etc.

I am really surprised, going to call them to try to get it down some more :D

Admirals standard comp cover includes a courtesy car if you use their approved repairer although, in the event of a claim your car would probably be written off even with minimal damage (just due to age and overall value etc) so you probably wouldnt get a courtesy car in that scenario (unless it was a non fault claim).

Nice to hear its gone down though! Some good news through all these 'Car insurance is going up!' threads.

Oh :/ When I went for the first lot of insurance a courtesy car would be extra. Oh well, I don't want on anyway because my dad specialises in accident repair so touch wood I don't have an accident, if I did I would want him to do it.

Yes, I was very surprised, I thought it would go up alot, I've been prewarned that it probably will never happen again so enjoy it lol.

Haha yeh enjoy it whilst you can

The courtesy car your thinking of (the one you pay for, £29.95 or something like that?) is if the car is written off or stolen, you get a hire car for up to 21 days.

Pricing is odd at the moment.
My daughters has halved from 17 to 18, quoted for the same car, and still at no ncd.
Mine has gone down, and my wifes has as well.
(Having said that, her renewal was offered at 65% up on last year, which is three times her best quote this year if she moves)

Renew quickly, before they realise they meant to charge you £1750 instead of £750.
