Is this legal?

Speak to a parent governor from the governing body. They are there to represent you and this is something that needs addressing.0

I am not sure that is true. Buying stuff online is covered by the distance selling regulations where I think you have a 7day "cooling off period" where it is the law that you can return an unwanted, unused item and get a full refund.
Surely there must be some similar regulations for shops that you actually go into?
I need to see the actual evidence that you cannot return an unused, unwanted item and not even get a credit note at the least.0 -
I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Would it be possible to take badge off 'too small' blazer and sew it onto £10.00 blazer? Very MSE!

Id have thought a ten quid blazer from a supermarket with a sewn on badge would be more embarassing than wearing a second hand one.
Id challenge any teen to notice the difference tbh.Penny-less wrote: »Would it be possible to take badge off 'too small' blazer and sew it onto £10.00 blazer? Very MSE!

I did that with DS's blazer in his last year0 -
Unfortunately school uniforms are big business these days :mad::mad:
In my day everybody just bought the badges to sew on to bog standard uniforms
Maybe this practice should be brought backBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

53. Schools should ensure that the chosen uniform is affordable and does not act as a barrier to parents when choosing a school. They should be able to demonstrate to parents how best value has been achieved and keep the cost of supplying the uniform under review.
I have taken this quote from the Department for Education website - clearly this school Is failing in it's duty to make uniform affordable for all parents and as such should be challenged by the OP
I would sent the child concerned in the blank blazer and then simply ask how they have met the criteria above - because clearly with only one uniform supplier, they have not.
we had this with our sons previous school - the quality was appalling and the costs astronomical and there was only one supplier of the official uniform allowed by the school ( who incidently the head had arranged a "donation " to school funds from as part of the deal!) the parents were up in arms and refused to shop there and the one supplier only part was soon dropped!0 -
Send a big angry bloke in to ask for one and see if he gets the same answer.0

There is no such regulation. Think of the difference shopping on person to buying online. You have the opportunity to see and examine the goods in person which you don't online. I'm sure this forms part of the rationale behind the distance selling regulations.
It isn't written down anywhere because there is no such right. Your only rights are what is written down.0 -
At least it might be possible to get a cheap blazer to sew a badge on. The parents for a school near me would have a much tougher job
