Travelodge website hacked

Has anyone else on here had their details hacked following a booking via Travelodge?

I just read about it on the BBC website and realised that I had received the phishing email reported. I just deleted it anyway as it was an obvious scam email.

I have not had any personal correspondence from Travelodge and I was just wondering if anyone else on here has been affected?

I was about to post the same thing. I have had the same email. Does this mean evil hackers have hacked into Travelodge and got people's email addresses? Or does it mean they've got hold of your email address some other way and pretend to be travelodge, hoping you are a travelodge customer and that you will click on the link in the email?
I have some emails telling me various things about my account with Lloyds, HSBC, Halifax, Barclays and more, which I don't have an account or any dealings with what so ever.

Lets just hope this doesn't turn out like the Sony mess. I hope they are being fully truthful in that Credit card details etc have not been compromised.

Yeah, thankfully I haven't got a PS3. I suppose it does worry me a bit now considering how many transactions I do online.

How odd, I made a booking with TL on Monday for Thursday night, and since I've received a few spam emails that made it through the filter. Thought nothing of it until I saw this. Will do something if it gets bad.
  • I got a spam mail supposedly from Lloyds TSB yesterday and then found out today about the Travelodge hacking. I imagine the two are related.
I just hope what Travelodge say in their email message today is true, and no card details have been taken.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

I take it you actually bank with LLoyds? If that's the case there could be more to this than they are letting on.
  • Nope, don't bank with Lloyds. Going to keep a closer eye on my bank account now, though.
