sony reader not transferring books from pc properly - please help!

I'm having a problem with my Sony reader and wondering if anyone knows a solution.

I have been downloading ebooks from the library overdrive system, for 6 months with no problems, until the last fortnight.

Today I downloaded 3 books and although I can read all 3 on my computer, I can only read one of them on my reader.

The other two, have transferred acrossed, but when I go to read them they only have 1 page transferred to reader and when I press begin reading it just says. 'protected page'

I have tried deleting them off reader and re transferring them from pc, but same thing happens. It is really frustrating! Can anyone advise me please?

Try downloading calibre

and use that to organise your books, it automatically converts books into the correct format for your ereader. Works well for my Kobo and the wifes Kindle

I have had that problem several times, I just re-sync it and it normally works after that, I don't delete anything first.

I have to admit I have got into the habit of checking each time I download onto my ereader now - it gets slightly annoying to settle down for a good read and not be able to open the book!

I think after further googling, i have found the answer, apparently there is a known problem with the sony devices and the overdrive library books, meaning if you borrow pdf and epub library books at same time, only either the epubs or pdfs will load correctly onto ereader - this makes sense as the pdf has loaded on correctly, but the other 2 are both epubs - hmmm.

Then you could always use Calibre to convert the PDF to epub or vice versa, would that solve the problem?

Calibre will only convert DRM-free books, Overdrive library books are DRM locked...
