mortgage ppi, help needed

Hi all, this is my first post apologies in advance for any mistakes.
Back in September 2001 my O/H and I took out MPPI with our Northern Rock mortgage with Legal and General, all done by phone with NR. We were advised to take this out by mortgage adviser, and were told it would help pay our mortgage and household bills if we were made redundant or had an accident/illness. Back in 2005 my husband had a motorbike accident and was off work for 7 weeks, we tried to claim on this insurance but were told he had to be off work for 60 days. Now back then money was very tight, living week to week since our second child was born in 2000, had it been pointed out to me in that phone call we would have to wait so long we would have looked for something more suitable, also we both had a redundancy package from our employer if needed, so the policy would not have paid out. I also told the adviser we had accident and critical illness cover for both of us. Do i have a claim as i believe it was miss sold. Sorry its a bit long winded but i wanted to state all the facts.

The policy would have paid out if you were made redundant, thats what the unemployment part of the policy does. Getting a redundancy payment is normal if employed over 2 years.

I'll let duntonh do the rest, he loves it.

Sorry should have explained more, its an enhanced redundancy package so if made redundant its classed as volantry (though thats not always the case, you just get the nod your on the list) the company likes the idea that no one is made compulsary redundant, it likes to keep a clean image!!!

60 days is pretty much the norm. You get some 30 days ones but tied agents only have to offer their version.

Nothing you have said suggests any mis-sale.
