Lloyds Incentive Query

I already have an account with Lloyds TSB and recommended my wife to move her personal account to get us £35 each.

I am now wondering whether we could recommend ourselves (so to speak) and transfer our joint account across (from FD).

Has anyone tried this before and will they pay out the incentive (currently £50 each)...or will they just tell me to get on my bike.

the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.

They check if you are a new customer*, and since you and your wife are already customers then I doubt it will work....it shouldnt but you never know. I bet the staff wont know either, so this will probably be too much hassle.

*We had problems because they had not closed a savings account properly for my girlfriend. An untouched saver opened when she was a little girl, with £0.01 interest added to it (that was the whole balance, £0.01!) officially made her an existing customer! They took some persuading to admit their mistake - we had the book with 'CLOSED' stamped on it at home.

Yes, they said they would go to the counter and bring her the 1p. We told them not to bother (and maybe put it in a charity jar) but when we logged on for internet banking it had been credited to the account - must be some sort of regulation thing!

Yes, it's deemed to be third party payment hence problem with AML regulations, even for charity. It could be done but it involves more paperwork/postage than it's worth...ie, your written instruction, posting the instruction, labour at the other end, comfirmation.....etc.

The government should make it easier for situation like this.

Can you not do it via Greasy Palm and earn another £7.50p for each account opened?
