Mis-sold Computeach

Hi
I signed up to a computeach course over the phone on 22/06/11 after spending a bit of time looking at what they do, but now i feel i've been mis-sold the course. I asked them what would happen if I missed a payment and she said that they would cancel the online material (which i have already accessed) and that would be it. Now it seems that I am stuck in a 12 month contract because of using the online service, which was also not how it was sold and if i do miss a payment i would have to pay the total cost upfront which may be subject to interest.
After asking to speak with their manager she said the same there is nothing they can do untill they review the calls which will take a few days.
So any advice you can give will be great. Surely there is a cooling off period for any contract, the material that was made avaible to me while I was online was as far as i can tell not officaly part of the course i signed upto do (i may be wrong) but just an introduction to the basics of IT.
Thanks

Under the DSR's you get 7 days to notify of cancellation (with certain restrictions).
HOWEVER, this becomes muddied when a service is involved. You are deemed to have accepted, and therefore give up your 7 day rights, if you access a service before the 7 days have expired.
When you looked at the material, had you logged on with your username and password?
Even if the content was free for everyone, or even a taster, you could have been deemed to have used your account and therefore accepted the service.
EDIT: However, this would not affect any claim if the product was not as described when you signed up initially. See what the result of their investigation is - but you might have to keep pestering them (depending on how good or bad their customer service is)“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
It wasn't free material no , it was a IT essentials introduction very basic I might add nothing you wouldn't pick up very quickly after using a computer. Yet they say because I have used it I now have to continue, even though i was told of no formal contract. They called it a 12 month subscription which doesnt imply it is binding.0
