I wouldn't presume that the councils do it for free, would you?
But at least it would be properly regulated and lawful (which it isn't under PPC control). and there would be a decent appeals process, unlike the PPC model where 99.9% of "appeals" are rejected. Nobody objects when they fall foul of council parking regulations. What they object to is paying money to private individuals (the PPCs) who have no right to demand money off people.
Are you going to anger the question about the underhand and frankly illegal methods employed by PPCs to con money out of people? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
OK, as clearly you can't be bothered to search my posts here's a clear and unequivocal statement for you :
I do not condone nor agree with people parking in disabled or P&C bays unless they have have a genuine need to use them.
And yet you do everything you can to help people get away with it. Go figure, eh?Equally I not condone nor agree with PPCs breaking or mis-representing the law.
So now I've made that perfectly clear, are you actually going to answer a question directly or continue to winge about some imaginary m@fia ? So here's you question :
Why do you think it is acceptable for PPCs to break the law and also the attempt to mis-represent the law ?
I won't hold my breath for a sensible constructive answer as you've continually failed to provide a coherent answer in your previous posts.
I have never condoned anyone breaking the law. I have however, supported the use of clamps on private land. I have admonished people for tespassing and parking on private property, without the permission of the landowner, which I don't ever recall seeing parking m4fia do, ever. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Sorry....I thought it was a "friend," who got the ticket. I wonder if there was particular reason for pretending that it was a friend. Parking disabled bays is morally wrong, even Trisontana agrees with that. It wasn't because you thought you wouldn't get the advice you needed, was it? I wouldn't worry about that because the parking m4fia don't seem to give a heck about disabled drivers. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Wrong yet again....suggest you read my OP for correction and where have I stated that either me or my friend have parked in disabled bays ??:D

The problem I have with this attitude is at makes no allowance for those who are genuinely disabled, but don't have a blue badge.
But Webby says that genuine disabled do have a blue badge. So it follows that, if you don't, you're not disabled, apparently. They must be handing them out without any need to apply now, I suppose.0 -

Yes but he is talking out of his rear and clearly doesn't know what the LAW says.. forget what the landowner and PPC think they can impose0 -
I would refer both sarahg1969 and webby to s.6 Equality Act 2010 - read by following the link - www. legislation. gov. uk/ukpga/2010/15/section/6. (minus the gaps - sorry I'm a Newbie and can't post links yet). It is perfectly feasible for a disabled person to fall within that definition and NOT be eligible for a blue badge - and I am one of them - especially since the revised guidelines published in February.
I do not currently have a blue badge but after prolonged informal discussion with the local supermarket manager (he wouldn't be committed to paper) I now park in a disabled space when I visit. I specifically referred him to the Equality Act and the need for him to make "reasonable adjustments" and threatened to report him if he would not therefore allow me to park. He crumbled. I have also threatened a private parking operative with pursuing him personally for discrimination (s.15 offence) as well as the shop he and his employers were working for. Miraculously, I am still without one of their tickets but would dearly love one of them to have a pop.
If you saw me walking you'd have no doubt as to my disability but apparently I need a blue badge to prove it to private parking companies, ASDA (it would seem) and some unthinking bigots here.
I am not a member of the parking "!!!!!" (whatever that means) either and have read nothing here that suggests to me that this forum is anti-disabled and nor am I a "selfish moron", Webby. For the record because I can move only very slowly I visit supermarkets in the late evening to minimise any inconvenience to those more seriously disabled and to give me more "elbow" room.
I regularly see abuse of disabled spaces. In my experience the most frequent offenders are those you might describe as middle-class parents who seem to think that because they are in a dash to get from football practice to brownies or whatever, they can park wherever they like. In my experience these types also give little time to research things properly and assume that their intelligence overrides reality.
Still, each to his own.0 -
Guys, it's really not worth the effort feeding the trolls here. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

I actually reported the driver of an Audi A7 at our local Asda in Long Eaton a couple of months ago for parking in Parent/Child space when not eligible.
I think people have quite a cheek to come on here moaning about who receives the profits taken from their parking ignorance/arrogance.....
If you park correctly the parking is FREE everytime.....stop your whining !!!
You go reporting a citizen who may get an unfair charge for what is none of your business. I know the charge is unlawful but does the motorist?? MOST people do NOT come to these sites, you can write the word "Fine" on this document and the unsuspecting will pay it. These forums were created to inform people that they need not always have to pay what unregulated rogues tell them to; you throw a spanner in the works and boost the PPC's propaganda campaign.
Parent & Child Parking is advisory. Abusing it may well be undesirable however this does not provide PPCs with a licence to go attaching arbitrary bits of paper to the window telling the driver to pay stupid money.0 -

So, we should just blindly ignore moronic arrogant gits who abuse disabled and parent and child parking bays? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
