I have just had two silent calls from this organisation; each time, I have contacted them to speak to a manager, who mysteriously appears to be on the telephone to someone else all the time. I assume she is the person making the silent calls, but it does not solve my problem, because I cannot get to speak to someone with the clout to deal with the issue at hand.
Is it worth me persevering?0 -
Hmm, second account I have read from an ex employee of a DCA that says training in the Data Protection Act was the only training that was taken seriously.
Obviously the ICO has more teeth than the OFT or FOS.
Glyn - by trying to phone them you are playing their game - on their home ground. Rise above it and send them a letter saying that you will deal strictly in writing. Tell them that they must remove your telephone numbers under the Data Protection Act.BSC No 248

Morning, my first time here, please forgive me if I posted in the wring place.
I have had 3 threatening letters from this company who first sent a yellow card through my door saying someone would visit my house to collect a debt. The debt is mobile provider 3. For £100, I have written and emailed 3 but they continue to ignore my corresponce. So last week I had 2 letters from this debt company, so far after reading they are a bunch of scum I have ignored their threats. I have now received a letter saying the manner in which I have conducted my account is unacceptable! And they are threatening court with added fees, and not to simply write as time limits are very strict.
Should I continue to ignore? I am very poorly, just been diagnosed with TB and sarcoidosis. I have tried to explain this to 3 who I refuse to pay as where I live we get no signal at all, despite them admitting on the phone that the signal is limited!! so under contract they were not providing me with a service I was paying for. I have 3 children youngest is only 2, I don't want these idiots on my door step! Please, I hope someone can give me some friendly advice! I've not called this company at all after reading on the forum of people being harrassed! From a worried mummy0 -
Hello, this is my first time. For the past year i have had constant letters demanding that i owe 'Three' money. The more letters i got the more the amount was, they threatened to come round my house and take the money themselves. I went to my local 'Three' store as i had taken out a dongle with them for a few months but cancelled it due to wanting to swap to 'orange' - much better service and rates!
I went into the store about 5 times about the same problem, i sat down with an adviser every time and we looked through the letters together and my account and i was put onto the phone to the same place every time, where they just kept trying to convince me to come back. What had happened was when i called up to cancel the IDIOT on the phone wrote on my profile wishes to cancel...but DIDN'T actually cancel my account. 'Three's' store advisers notified them of this issue and they apologized and said that to ignore the letters as they are just trying to scare you.
I ignored and the harassment stopped, i moved house and for 4 months i had heard nothing from these people, then 3/4 weeks ago it all started again...letters sent to my mothers house (how they got this address is beyond me) threatening to take me to court for the measly £20.08 i supposedly owe them. They threatened that this would all affect my credit rating. Then another debt collectors started calling me EVERYDAY...once at 8am. They are rude, mean and ignorant.
I'm not sure what to do anymore, iv ignored them for so long and now they are back with more companys

Hi, my story is the exact same as yours. Debt Management Company were not paying enough to my creditors and taking too much in fees. Took it all on myself and my first payments for what I agreed with all my creditors are due tomorrow. Agreed £15 pm for a capital one debt with Credit Solutions Ltd. Were nice enough on the phone and received letters confirming they have agreed my payment plan and confirming the dates etc...Will let you know if it turns nasty!

to anyone that is getting phone calls from collections just keep hanging up and write a letter to them stating that you will only be contacted by phone and the constant harrassment by phone calls is not acceptable and you will report them to the office of fair trading and please in capital letters state that you are making a formal complaint, i have dealt with a few of these fools and now have only lowell still calling but as i like to annoy them and my debt is so small i like to let them talk to my tv..and each time they call me i get so stressed i forget to pay them :-) ..although 3 calls in half hour is now getting annoying, if they are calling a mobile you have a record of the calls on missed calls list..mainly using different numbers ..do include that you know this info on your letter and have a list of every (mostly_ silent calls they have given you and keep mentioning the oft and harrassment you will eventually get your peaceful life back good luckgoal for 2014....i will manage money better ..must resist shopping..............:A0
