Laptop linking upto a Tv

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 and would like to link it upto my new TV which is a PHILIPS widescreen flat TV 37PF7531D/10 37". Does any one know how to do this and what cables I will need.

The manual for the TV says something about using a hdmi to dvi cable for best connection. Does this sound about right.Started Comping August 2008

I dont think laptops come with this type of connection, only PC's.
There must be a S-video or Composite output on there somewhere, maybe its a seperate cable that plugs into the laptop with these connections on the other end. You will also need a cable for the sound, this will be a standard 3.5mm to phono audio cable. This would plug into the headphone socket on the laptop.0
