inviting friend to center parcs

we have booked a 6 person stay to center parcs this year and have a spare place.

i invited a friend who said he would go, but i didnt think before asking. he smokes weed every night and has to have 2 / 3 joints. i dont think he is likely to change this habit soon.

do you think this will cause a problem, i am worried the smell might be noticed by other guests at the park and could be reported?

It probably would I should think.
Let him know and give him the option to pull out if he'd prefer to smoke it than go?

Yes I agree, the site would no doubt ask him to leave if it was noticed, or maybe even contact the police :(

TBH I'd not want to invite someone with a habit like that. Not fair on the next occupants of the lodge is it? Its a family place - not a place to take someone with a drug habit.
  • Smoking of any kind is not allowed in Centerparcs' accommodation. You would probably be hit with an extra cleaning charge to get smell out of lodge. Ashtrays are provided on patio tables outside.

It's probably best all round if your friend doesn't go. He won't enjoy not smoking, your family won't appreciate it if he does.

As a very regular visitor to Center Parcs I would be furious if some pot smoking moron was in the next lodge or anywhere on site!
None of the lodges allow smoking, if I were you I'd tell them that the place is no longer available!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

thanks for the replies, made my mind up, will offer him the chance to go if he agrees not to smoke- however i think he will probably not go now. so will try and find someone else who would enjoy the weekend.
