Life Insuarance and Payment Care

Hi all,
I hope you can help me. I'm a very confused FTB, and I'm wondering what insurances I need and don't need, and whether the quotes I have been given are reasonable.
I am buying a two-bedroom leasehold flat, and I only need contents insurance - I have quoted £25 pm for £10,000 worth of contents. This seems high to me, any ideas?!?
I have then been quoted life insurance at £15 pm, and payment care at £28 pm. However, as I'm in a stable job (teacher) and I get a generous Sick Pay, would payment care actually be necessary?!?
Please help...any advice would be very welcome :A

£300 per year for contents cover of £10,000 is ridiculously high in my opinion I would shop around. I would also advise you to sit down and add up exacly what it would cost to replace your contents as £10,000 is quite low nowadays, its not uncommon to have that much stuff just in the living room.
As far as life assurance is concerned as a teacher you will have good death in service benefits through your pension, but I would at least insure for enough to pay off the morgage in the event of your demise.I have retired from a career in Financial Services........Thank God. Any advice given may be as a result of senile dementia so dont take it too seriously.......

Your contents insuranceis more than my house insurance on full cover. However, I'm in a low risk area and you could be in a high risk area.
With your occupation, Accident, Sickness and Unemployment cover is not as important and you would have overlap. I wouldnt have it in your position.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
