Cheese, crackers and pate for when I get sick of turkey.

Most of our Christmas food is already in the fridge, freezer or cupboards.

Christmas shopping tends to be more of all the things we like than I'd normally allow :)

These days I include a bit of overspill in the Christmas Club budget to allow for indulgence in the supermarket.

Our essentials are probably the opposite stuff, things like a packet of bacon, couple of onions, normal cheddar, bread - so that we've always got the means of a snack meal when we don't know when we'll be in and out of our house.

OH thinks Christmas is a time that cashews come in larger bags or even huge tubs... :rotfl: He gets fed up of chocolate very very quickly over the festive period - usually by about two hours into Christmas morning - and then moans about chocolate 'lying around' the house for the next month or however long it takes to eat it. Last Christmas I sort of saw his point because we had so much - and ended up putting a tin of Quality St on top of the kitchen cupboards, virtually out of sight, and mostly out of mind till we got round to it in August!

It's the only time of year I buy premade tubs of custard (some weirdness about thinking it's easier than dry packet mix!) and vol-au-vents.
