How to clean Laptop screen?

I use to work for a company that set and sold laptops and during the set up the would tape a sheet of plastic so it covered the screens.
Mind you I don't know what they used but when my laptop went back to HP for repair they cleaned the screen and it looked great for about 5 mins.
According to my handbook from memory I am suppose to use Isopropyl alcohol.

I just have to say a massive thank you to amd!
At work and just mis-read the post:
"...Important - Never use bleach or fabric conditioner, and never tumble-dry them..."
Now re-read it and assume this is in reference to the cloth, and not laptops!!ITV Winners Club Member (106)

I use two pieces of kitchen towel, one wet and one dry and clean all my TFT screens and they come up OK. And a lot cheaper than buying purpose made screen wipes.
Some people I know use the Tumble dryer sheets as they attract dust ect. But I wouldnt want to risk it, not knowing what chemicals they use.
Water alone is fine IMO"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

I just use the sponge we do the dishes with, slightly damp, and wipe dry with kitchen towel.
TFT panels aren't as delicate as you'd think and the glossy ones even less so.0 -
I use the following

It's excellent, Had it for years and you can use it on Screens, Camera lens and all sorts.
Soft to the touch and gathers dust brilliantly. Also can be used moist to pick up greaser marks without scratching or leaving swirl marks on screens.0
