Halifax Easycash Account / RBS Key Account

HI,
I applied for a RBS Key Account online. I received a letter from Halifax to say they agree to open an "Easycash account"!!!??!!
If I'm not mistaken, I get a VISA DEBIT with the RBS Key account, but an Electron with the Halifax one.
Is anyone working for RBS here? How do I get the RBS key account instead of the Halifax one?
thanks

There is no connection between RBS and Halifax whatsoever, so you cannot possibly have received a Halifax account because of any application you made to RBS.
You must have just got confused and been on the wrong website. You didn't log onto the Bank of Scotland website, by any chance, did you, instead of RBS? RBS is the Royal Bank of Scotland, which is a different entity to the Bank of Scotland.
If you want an RBS account you will have to apply again, -and make sure you go on the correct website next time.0 -
sorry my mistake, I meant Bank of Scotland. Thanks for correcting me.
Do Bank fo Scotland offer a Debit card with a basic account or is it an Electron like Halifax?
thnx0 -
Both Bank of Scotland and Halifax's basic accounts are called Easycash.
Both come with a Visa Electron.0 -
Halifax is a trading division of Bank of Scotland, and the majority of their accounts are identical, just with a different name on them. Word has it though, that this is all due to change later this summer, when new Bank of Scotland products will be more closely allied to Lloyds TSB accounts instead, leaving the Halifax as a distinct brand.0

so is it better to have a BoS account rather than a Halifax one due to this, EarthBoy? thnx0

Halifax and Bank of Scotland accounts are identical. Personally I'd go with Royal Bank of Scotland, if you're in Scotland or Natwest if you're in England.0

I would not bother opening a halifax account- they are possibly the most inept bank in he world. About 6 monthhs ago I tried to open an easycash acc with halifax. They said yes just bring some ID to your local branch, I did that and they gave me an acc no and told me they would send card etc after I had deposited some money in. I went home and tried to deposit money from from 2 different accs. Both were rejected I assumed there was a tme apse required. I tried again the next day and the same thing gappened.. So I forgot about it.. Yesterday i received a letter askking if I stll wanted the acc. So I logged onto to internet banking ok. I can see the acc ok but can do nothing with it. Tried again unsuccesfuly to transfer money same thing. Called halifax - "call back later computer is down" next call " your account looks okk from here go into a branch and "see if the GIRLS" have anymore success."
So halifax allegedly have internet and phone banking but are absolutely useless.
Good job I did not really need an account .0 -
yeah many people say that, I'll definitely not open an account with them. thanks0
