A bit Morbid maybe

Options
But maybe something worth thinking about i heard a story last week about a lady who passed left no money and the funeral had to be paid by her kids who again didnt have the money to pay for it
so it got me thinking about funerals and costs and maybe i should start putting money aside for my own :(
so cost ways does any of you know what kind of cost a funeral here in NI would be (hopefully i have decades yet).

I have no family and no arrangements. So they can stick me where ever they want. I won't be around to worry or care.

A funeral plan is an excellent idea for everyone. You arrange the funeral with the FD and bascially pay the cost for what your funeral would be now. (average price is around 2300)
If you live for another 20/30/40 years the cost of a funeral will have risen dramatically but the money you paid will cover the cost. (unless your family want additional limos, newspaper adverts, flowers etc)

They can be paid for in one lump sum or over a period of time.

If I can help further please let me know.

I think the limo is just the black car that the elderly relatives or the immediate family travel in hehind the hearse. There is usually one at any funeral I've been at.

    £2300 Average Cost.

    Jeepers I can't afford to die !

I reckon a cardboard coffin is a good place to start with price reduction: http://www.coffincompany.co.uk/cardboard-coffin

Yes, A limo is the car for family behind the hearse.

Cardboard coffins are one way to slightly cut the cost but is only a small part, buying a grave, opening orders etc can be very expensive depending on area and these are things that the price cant be cut on if the council is charging. Dont forget the additional cost for a saturday at the cementry (if its a council one).

There are companies where you can put money away for your own funeral, I personally think it's a good idea because the last thing you want your grieving family to worry about is finding the money!

this one looks good - you get £50 of M&S vouchers too! I'd do a google search and see which one suits you best. It's not morbid, everyone dies we all have to consider it at some point, and anyway its very MSE as you're saving others money.
