When the one in Birmingham shut we got amazing bargains.
Seems I might be hanging out around Solihull soon

Habitat's quality dropped, IMO, after IKEA bought it. Its a shame Habitat stuff my parents bought is still ace and classic British design but stuff of more recent years?: if you compare Habitat stuff with Conran shop stuff then difference is clear IMO.0

God I do love the Daily Mail comments section sometimes. I suspect this is a spoof though:I don't see why we need modern furniture anyway. Nothing wrong with creating your own out of scraps of wood and old doors. If you ask me some people realised they had more money than sense, abandoned Habitat and got to the lathe. No doubt the Health and Safety fascists will be on to our case soon though, and forcing us to purchase overpriced foreign junk made in the far east by children.

Agreed. I still like the look of it but only go sale searching - heavily reduced sale searching. I couldn't pay full price for it, probably the reason it's goingEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I doubt they are still available in your area (unless london) as administrators are very unlikely to employ staff, they tend to do the opposite really.0 -
Aghghgh,
We have lots of habitat stuff, which is basically more upmarket ikea. However as time as gone on, the stock changed from being 'designed' to more 'bling'. All a bit 'Indian restaurant' for my liking.
Guess it'll have to be JL now.0 -
Not surprised its gone tits up. Overpriced and poor quality.0

I had a heavy, immaculate, Habitat coffee table in black ash when I moved... and in my effort to get rid of everything I bunged it on ebay and got 1p for it.
I didn't mind, it was about getting rid of everything.... I'd had it 17 years and all I ever did was treat it as precious/keep it immaculate. So it was time to get rid as it was a millstone. Lovely it was.
Woman came to collect and told me she was so pleased she'd got it as her son had had a mental breakdown and had pulled all his furniture from his place into the garden and set fire to everything he owned... and was now on the mend but had no furniture.
I felt guilty taking her penny!0 -
I'm really sad about Habitat, but my pain will be eased if I can get a Robin Day sofa at 75% off. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
