Zara parcel delivered but goods not in it

Thats what I had assumed also after reading the Section 75 part of the forum. Can anyone shed some more light?0

I would write a formal letter to their MD, see if you can get his/her name, I cannot believe they are being this sticky over £40.0

Did you sign the receipt note to say items were received? I'm assuming this is what Zara are saying? You signed to say everything was received correctly. They probably think you are trying a fast one, get items, phone up saying they are not there and try and claim a refund. I'm not saying you are doing this of course.
You should always check items on receipt before signing the receipt note. If you don't check items on delivery you should always write on the delivery note, items have not been checked.0 -
Was it a box with a bag round it?
What courier delivered it? Do they have online tracking? Does the online trackling itemise the weight of the shipment? If this shows online this would indicate it was sent or scanned in transit at that weight - that would prove the item which makes it to you wasn't what went through the couriers systems (to clear up any doubt)
As for the unchecked signature, this carries very little weight with most couriers now and won't apply here as the OP would have needed to have known the condition of the packaging when it was sent in order to have said it was tampered with.
The unchecked thing in regards to damages carries less weight too now as most courier require an inspection of the quality of packaging before paying out a claim nowadays...0 -
I did not receive a tracking number, the order was trackable via the Zara website which constantly gave an 'in transit' message until it was updated to 'delivered'. The courier was an independant one, which is how I recieve orders from Next, its just a guy in a car who brings me my parcels, and no there was no signature for me to give. Even if there was, I do not tend to unpack my goods and then sign. Zara should know that I am a good customer and not trying to pull a fast one, I've shopped with them alot since the launch of their online service less than a year ago and never had any issue up until now.
The parcel was a brown Zara box, which is standard, wrapped in the blue plastic, again standard, but with one end taped up in dark tape.0 -
and presumably the tape on the zara box inside was also tampered with or different?
Even though its a man in a car the likelyhood is this will be Hermes or DHL @ Home or something along those lines...0
