I'm a bit miffed at not being able to service my loan through the Egg website any more, as mentioned previously it was one of the better features of the site, especially for making wee additional payments on top of your direct debit, something I did most months to try and pay the loan off that little bit quicker. The Moorgate website doesn't appear to have this facility.

With regards to the company name, I was worried that any company with "Recoveries" tagged onto the end of their name would look poor on a credit check, but I notice this bit on the Moorgate website FAQ's:

    • How will account appear on my Credit File following the change in ownership?
You account will appear on your Credit File as 'Moorgate Loan Servicing', who have been instructed by Britannica Recoveries S.à.r.l-Moorgate to service your account. These changes will have no detrimental affect on your Credit File in any way.

So looks like we're all good in that respect. :)
  • Thanks, that's been really helpful!!

Can anyone give me contact details for Britannica Moorgate aka. Britannica Recoveries, aka Arrow etc etc

I discarded the welcome letter and I need to contact them. Do they have a website?

Question - I have had an Egg Loan and was due to finish on the 28th July - I know this is now managed by Moorgate but when reading there letter they say as paying by DD I need to do nothing as payments will be taken as normal. Now mid of last month (July) Egg paid me £55 back (why I don't know) into my bank, the direct debit no longer appears on my DD list with my bank. I did during last year change my payments and paid £50.00 more each month then my standard set payment.

I have not had my last payment taken from my bank and on Egg.com my loan no longer shows on there webpage (most liley due to it being sold) Now do I ring Morrgate and say are you taking payment or should I phone Egg and ask what the £55.00 was for. I think due to the increase payments I may of paid off early but I have not had anything from anyone advising if my loan has finished (just spoke to Egg very helpful not - This was due to an overpayment but can't tell me why or when but when sold account they found I had overpaid but now can't tell me if my account is paid off or not as if I have overpaid why would they give money back if I still had a payment to go out)

Puzzled on what to do next - Play dumb and wait for a call/letter?

    Hi,

Looks like you paid it off?

I would ring Moorgate to confirm, as any letters you write to Egg just get passed on to Moorgate who reply (personal experience). Egg are selling everything by the looks of it, so I doubt they have any interest in helping anyone.

  • Argh!!!

This is my first ever payment issue, across all creditors, not just egg/Britannica. In 11 years I don't think that's too bad.

Received an email tonight from secure site saying my password had been changed. Contacted my bank and yes ... the account had been frauded.

So checked all my direct debits and in the ones which weren't paid due to insufficient funds (after being milked last night and tonight) was the payment to Britannica Moorgate.

I can't find the welcome pack they sent ... so can someone please send me their number.

Also what's the likely scenario? Late payment on file and add a notice of correction?

    Thanks for your help.

I just found this out the other day when I logged into Egg, it seems they sent the letter to my 'current address' rather than my 'correspondence address', and there was me thinking the clue was in the name. I find it quite disconcerting that Moorgate's home page is titled 'Moorgage Loan Servcing Limited', if they can't even get their own name right what chance is there that they can actually look after my loan?
I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?
  • Hi guys, looking for some help here. What am I supposed to do if I want to take a payment break on my egg loan? I don't know who/how to get in contact with the new people as I haven't received any letter or details on how to log into my account. Before it was simple as I would just log into my account via egg and request a payment break. Any help would be appreciated as I'm going to be stuck if I can't take a break on my loan.
  • Search for moorgate on here and debt free wannabe forum and you will find the website. It is possible from what I read recently. Someone emailed them to do this.
