Lost my Ford Focus Remote Key :(

I think this is the right forum to post this!
At Xmas, I lost my remote lock key for my 07 Focus. I have a spare but its not remote, which means everytime I open the car, I have 10 seconds to put the key in the ignition or the alarm goes off, also if anyone else opens a door or the boot before I do that then the alarm goes off! Which is incredibly annoying!
Ford has quoted me £189 for a new key and programming, does anyone know of a cheaper way to sort this?

Find a locksmith with the right equipment or get your current key cloned onto a remote one.
Problem there is the old key is still active and the car can be stolen. And if you lose another key that one
cannot be blocked without blocking the other key.
Buy a blank remote off ebay and also a standard blank key. Then get them all coded properly.
You will have 3 working keys and can program new ones yourself if you lose one.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Sound advice, because if the car is stolen the insurance company will not be very impressed to find there are working keys knocking about, and may refuse the claim.0 -
Its a Ford Focus 2.0 2007, this key listed here looks identical:

Anyone know if this is the right one?
So am I right i thinking I could take that key to a locksmith to be cut the same as my existing spare car key for a couple of quid?
Then what should I expect to pay an auto electrician to program the key? Any ideas?1 -
Without the code from the old one not sure.. Ask the seller before buying.
Dont forget you can program the remote to unlock the car yourself but it wont start the car.
You need a locksmith or dealer to code the key to the immobiliser. Then buy yourself a standard blank key.
So you have 3 keys. Will save you the £100+ bill to get another one coded.
They can and do fail sometimes. When i bought my car sometimes the remote key would not start it. Sneaky
dealer had put both keys on the same ring so it always started 1st time.
When i seperated them the remoted one was dodgy. Bought 2 more keys and managed to code them after
several attempts. Now have 4 keys, 2 remotes and 2 standard.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
