Ive moved this to the pets board as you wish to discuss what people feed their cats. Perhaps later on it could be moved to the shopping and groceries board.

I've recently started feeding my cat wet food from poundland. 3 for £1 for premium proper cat food. She is extremely fussy and won't eat felix or whiskers!

    Good luck. Zip.

Do you want the same brands cheaper or are you willing to try different brands which are better value for money? I buy Bozita from Seapets/ Zooplus/ Mutley&mog/ K9Capers whichever is cheapest, raw bone-in meat and offal from the supermarket, Applaws from Pets at Home/ PetPlanet/ Petsupermarket VetUK whichever is cheapest.

  • Hi, my cats get Royal Canin which is on the expensive side but I prefer to feed better quality foods than the ones available in supermarkets.

You can get good deals online - Arden Grange is a good food - 2.5kg bag for under £11 or 7.5 kg for £20 http://www.valupets.com/pets/arden-grange/arden-grange-adult-cat-food-7.5kg/25022.html - obviously it would depend on how many cats you've got (?) as to whether they'd get through the big bag while it's still fresh.

You can get Classic tins @ PAH which is a good quality meat - 24 tins for under £11.50 http://www.petsathome.com/shop/cat/cat-food-treats/wet-cat-food/?ref1=1|Brand-|Classic

For pouches - mine only eat Whiskas (wish they wouldn't - have tried higher meat content ones and they won't touch them - must be the "McDonalds feeling") and I stock up on these when they're on offer.

I recently got 3 boxes (12 pouches each) for £6 - compared to around £3.70/box usually.

I find Zooplus very good. As well as a great choice of products at good prices, you can earn reward points with them that you can save up to get freebies (just be aware that the points do have expiry dates, though) and you can also go through Top Cashback and get cashback on your purchases too!

I tend to go to Zooplus for Bozita wet food (their 'mega pack' works out particularly good value if you're able to buy a large amount up front) and stock up on quantities of James Wellbeloved or Royal Canin dry food when Pets at Home have BOGOF offers on them.
As previous posters mention, buying more expensive, higher quality food often works out more cost effective in the long run since you feed smaller quantities.
