Mortgage approval in 3 weeks? Possible??

Hi
We have an existing mortgage with A&L which we are hoping to borrow more and then take out another smaller fixed to top it up to required amount. Started process a week ago and they said all would be fine for our completion and moving in date of 15th July. Then they took a week for the draw down so now getting nervous this will not happen in time. Should I postpone moving in date??
How long do A&L usually take? Are they reliable?
