Monthly/PAYG Insurance

Hi all,

I hope someone can help.

I brought a mercedes benz 2006 plate for myself but would like to insure my son it, who is 22. We've tried going through all the major comparison sites and most can cover him and myself, but for like £3000+ whereas im like £600 for the year.

The other option would be to buy a lower group insurance car (which im thinking about) but he may not even drive as much this year because of his uni...so I want to enlist some help, as to finding out whether he can do like pay as you go insurance/monthly ones without being on a 12month term?? If so, which companies would be the best to check out?

We've done annual insurances the previous 3 years, with a smaller sized engine car with no problems.
