I moved to Scottish Power in February, mainly for the cashback via Quidco, and I think it was on a tariff that tied me into it for a year.

I should be moving house in the next couple of months. Am I therefore obliged to take their services at the new address or pay the cancellation charge as part of what would be my final bill?

Given their price rises I wonder also whether you are completely at the mercy of their increases when in contract?

SP (nor I think any other supplier) charges early exit fees when the cause of an early exit is a house move. This is stated in your terms.

When you move to the new house, you will initially have to take the existing suppliers ... but then you can switch if you want.

SP appear on this occassion to have waived all early exit fees to those who have been adversely affected by the recent price rises announced (if you comply with the terms of this waiver)

Ah, interesting. Thanks for that. Presumably their website tells me more? If I can move without exit fee I will do so.

The notice of price variation you receive will inform you of the waiver if applicable to you.
It's not on the website.
I would suggest you double-check any ambiguity by calling them ... although lots of posters here have been getting consistent answers.

Don't recall receiving a notice of price variation. Will call them and report back.
