Can I switch?
Hi all,
My contract with edf runs out on the 30th of this month.
I ran edf and they said I couldn't switch till then as I may pay fees.
However scot power ran me and said due to the 4-6week change times ale I could switch now?
I don't know what to do really. I would like to switch today but I don't want to incur fees. So does it work when I put in my application today or when the switch actually happens?

If you want to switch then do so - as the new supplier informed you, it takes 4-6 weeks (minimum 4 weeks) for any switch to actually occur
If you are still a customer of your old supplier on the day that tariff deal expires, I can't see how they can charge you early exit fees."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I hope you haven't signed up to them without doing your own research?
What tariff do they want to put you on?
If I were you I would put my yearly kWh figures into a comparison site and see what comes out.0
