The Barbican in Plymouth is worth a visit - be sure to try Cap'n Jaspers yard long baguettes whilst your there - but make sure you've worked up an appetite first.0

I'd have to second Eden project. It's expensive ( there are occasional deals) but we found it a real day out and quite spectacular. Far more interesting and managable than we expected (two parents, three kids: 10-17). I had my doubts that it would be worthwhile beforehand but came away very impressed. We arrived at opening time and left at 4pm. A tip - because Saturday is usually holiday changeover day it's a very good time to visit before everyone gets installed, up and running and ticking things off the schedule. We did so by accident but several experienced visitors said it was the way to do it. Some arrived did the visit and then went to check in to accom. Others came late morning after check out...several had done both over two weekends as the ticket allowed repeat visits ina 12 month presumably to offset the high one-off visit charge as most people won't return!Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0

The enterprise boat trip from Falmouth to Truro (or vice versa) is good and there are lots of National Trust places to visit in both Devon and Cornwall.
Pendennis castle in Falmouth
Sennan Cove is a beautiful beach, but I would recommend steering clear of Newquay
St Ives is a beautiful harbour town with the Tate and Barbara Hepworth gardens - cheaper entrace fee if you buy tickets for both at the same time.
Along with Exeter Cathedral, Truro Cathedral is also nice and has the distinction of being one of the only Cathedrals with three spires.
Along the Jurassic coast there are lots of lovely secluded beaches if you are prepared to take a walk through gorse to get to them.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break

The Donkey Sanctury at Sidmouth. Tis free, you get to stroke wonkeys and a lovely day out.
Tisn't true about Truro Cathedral, as Lichfield Cathedral has three spires also.0 -
I did say it is one of the only, not THE only.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break
