Doesn't the owl centre where the party's being held sell anything that would be cheap enough & the profits go back into the centre?
I'm assuming that it's an owl sanctuary?0 -
Wilkinsons have some little hardback pocket notebooks with owls on them for 55p each, it's the one in this picture http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YvW4blF8tzw/TGwyF9_e5xI/AAAAAAAADVk/0K9vAOZFPpw/s1600/DSCF3255.JPG
I think you can also get a pack of pencils with the same design on, maybe some other little stationary bits too but I can't remember off the top of my head.
Also found these on eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-SCHOOL-PENCILS-OWL-NOVELTY-ERASERS-BLUE-PURPLE-/110693426650?pt=UK_BOI_Office_Office_Supplies_Stationery_ET&hash=item19c5d7a5da#ht_1428wt_1140

Not sure if you've solved the cake problem but thought I'd give you the idea behind a cake my Mum used to make for us. Concept is chocolate swiss roll, stood on its end covered in chocolate butter icing and then use chocolate buttons start at the base and layer to look like feathers, face area left clear but use buttons as eyes and beak. Hope this helps!0
