Hi,
Not strictly MSE, but if it saves me buying a new computer......
I am fairly technically competent, but have recently had a speight of viruses, the latest of which has rendered all of my shortcuts etc fairly useless. I'm thinking it has updated something in the registry to disassociate .exe files or somesuch, but thought I would ask on here to see if anyone could guide me
On the Admin login, all 'seems' ok. When I log in under my name, anything I click gives me 'select the program you wish to use to open this file', even double clicking things like Internet Explorer
If I go in to control panel, I get 'unable to locate run32dll', which I know is there
I know strictly speaking this would belong on a more technical forum, but I'm not a member of any others.....
If anyone can give me a quick fix (rather than reinstalling windows), I would be eternally grateful
PC is a self build, running Windows XP
