Bringing home a puppy

Hi,
Does anyone know of any free puppy packs? or puppy freebies?
I know Pedigree and Eukanuba used to do one but they are no longer available
Any ideas or suggestions on free or cheap things for a new dog would be great.
Thanks!

What sort of free stuff do you want? If you speak to your vets they might have puppy parties you can go to, we got loads of free stuff from that.
You should not be changing your pups food, keep it on what the breeder has been feeding it on.
Puppies do not need a lot, a bed, a collar, a few toys - and make sure you put everything you do not want eaten, up high
Get some baby gates, you don't want the pup going all over the house weeing and pooing, the amount of space will be too much for him/her, keep the pup in one, maybe 2 rooms.
You'll need a mop too.

Some vets provide a "puppy pack" type of thing when you visit to give the puppy its vaccinations.0

Hi,
I've just potty trained two children... at the same time. We're prepared for the weeing
Also already got the baby gates up. We are a child/puppy home, thanks though.
In the free puppy packs I have seen (that are no longer available) they have contained a few samples, toys and maybe some bedding.
Just thought it would be a bonus if I could get one... not looking likely though0 -
Hi, def try your vets - they usually do a free puppy check & give you a bag of "goodies"! (Ours had money off vouchers, a couple of food samples and a fantastic HUGE fleecy blanket).
Good luck with your new arrival!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Goodness, 2 young children and a puppy? Very brave, hope it works for you.
I've never seen a puppy pack with bedding, usually it's loads of leaflets, a few coupons and a small pack of food. The breeder (if it's a decent breeder) will probably give you a small toy, a piece of blanket with mum's smell on it, and some food or a voucher for some food.0 -
Blimey - puppy packs are going up in the world if they are giving blankets
With mine its always been pedigree sponsored and I wouldnt feed the carp in them to a pup. Mind the wee measuring cups they give as well are very useful
Good luck with the pup though - what is it? And Photos are required0 -
I got Hills ones from the vet and they had all the above in (and kitten ones too) - was a while ago so maybe the blankets have been binned!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I agree, puppy packs these days are rubbish!
I remember the days when you got all sorts of goodies in them - toys, shampoo, puppy pads, leads, frontline etc etc
These days its all I can do to provide a decent sized trial bag of premium food and a measuring cup along with the millions of leaflets!I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Thank you everyone for your replies.
I will go and see the vet for sure and see what they have to offer.
We're getting a black Labrador/cocker spaniel cross (a Spanador! ha), he is living with his 5 other brothers and sisters in a barn at his mums owners house at the moment.
The lady who owns his mum has been very helpful and is giving the pups their first jabs.
Can't wait to bring him home now!
