ARGOS , No delivery on agreed date twice

Hello, i have ordered 2 sofas from argos and had an agreed date for delivery of saturday 11th june between 7 and 12. Noone telephoned me that morning to tell me the delivery was on its way so i spent an hour on the phone to them after half 12 to find out what was happening. I was told the sock had not arrived from the manufacturers so was not on the delivery today and that someone should have phoned me when this was known to Argos to let me know but no one did. We then had a second date of 21st june and again the exact same thing happened. i even phoned the day before to get the department to ring me in the morning to let me know for sure they were on the delivery truck, noone riang for that.My wife waited in, no delivery, my wife phoned them at half nine to ensure the sofas were being delivered that day and was told yes. She phoned again to ask where thet were and was then told the same thing as the first occasion. We now have a delivery date of July 5th. But again they cannot guarantee that they will be ready from the manufacturer for that date either? Where do i stand with this? these are costing me almost £800 and its caused so much mess with getting my old sofas removed to allow room etc,my wife having time off etc. changing plans to stay in for the 5 hour slot ! Help please!!!

Where do i stand with this?
Although very poor customer service from Argos - if they don't receive them from the manufacturer then they cannot deliver them.
What do you want to happen?
You have the option to cancel the order and be refunded in full and then shop elsewhere,
or,
you have to option to sit tight (no pun intended) and hopefully get them delivered third time around.
Maybe the next time Argos say they are going to deliver them, don't wait in at all, and when they leave a card (or call) then rearrange delivery for a time that suits you and you will know that the sofas are definately in stock.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. pretty unlucky for the OP by all accounts, I have waited 8 weeks for an 800 odd quid corner sofa, got a call last week saying delivery for yesterday, called them back after realising I was in a meeting all morning so needed to switch to afternoon and was done no problem. Had a text the night before delivery saying will be between 1:30pm-3:30pm (was actually 4pm but i'll let them off) and had no trouble at all..
Surprised at Argos messing you about like this, not much more I can add to Phoodless's comments above though really. Either have to wait and hope it does actually get delivered next time, or cancel the order (probably not worth it based on their lead times). I guess you could always phone customer services and make it known how inconvenient this is and get a voucher or something - doubt you'll let a lot more. Even if they refund the delivery charge it's only about £8 if memory serves so not really worth the trouble."We can all fly as high as the dreams we dare to live...........unless we are a chicken" ~ Anon.0
