Heating our old village hall
Can anyone suggest to me the best way of doing the above? It's an old schoolroom now used for village meetings and other occasional activities. At present there are a couple of wall mounted convector heaters that are neither use nor ornament - any heat goes up into the high ceilings and even in the height of summer everyone freezes!
While it would be great to have constant low level heating all the time which would also help to keep the damp at bay, I'm sure the cost would be prohibitive. So really what I'm asking is some form of heating that could be used for meetings or when other community activities are going on. A couple of big fan heaters might do the trick but I worry about safety, especially as the Scouts and other young people's groups use the hall on occasion.
There's no gas, just electricity.
Any ideas/sources/suppliers please? Thanks

Get the bosses of the energy company to come and do a talk to explain their rising prices.
The hot air coming out of their mouths will keep you going for months!0 -
There are electric convector / fan heaters that are wall mountable, so that would prevent accidental knocking over
I guess some sort of "fire guard" would prevent people getting too close & burnt, should their common sense fail themGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
Many thanks. As I said, we already have a couple of wall mounted convectors (which yes, are perfectly safe) and the heat goes directly to the ceiling - I bet it's lovely and warm up there! Fans might be better, I wonder about those fans you can get for bathrooms which direct their heat downwards. Hmmm, thinks......0
