Help with benefits related to hospice etc.

Hi,

I wonder if anyone could help me. My father in law has been in hospital for a number of weeks and is now moving to a hospice as he won't get any better. His daughter is his carer and recieves carers allowance but this will be stopping next week so we are applying for ESA as she isn't well herself. We are also applying for dla and hoping to get it backdated as this was never offered to her. However the main reason for me asking here is that she will have to travel around 12 miles a day at a cost of some expense.

I was just wondering if there's a benefit for such a situation that will help with travel costs or anything else we can look at doing.

Thanks in advance.
