Glad your ok. Like someone mentioned though, it might be worth taking it to a different jeweller to get it check, platinum shouldn't really bend out of shape. x

I spoke to the jeweller about it, she said that its just like any other metal, hit it hard enough and it will bend!

Have to say this doesn't quite make sense in as much as you didn't say you hit it, you said you caught it on a door latch. That really shouldn't cause such a problem.
Might perhaps be a particularly thin band? otherwise I also would have it checked elsewhere for quality. Too late in a few years time.

I didnt so much catch it as when I fell, my ring stuck on the metal latch and nearly dislocated my finger! Its still bruised and swollen now!

I didnt take it back to the jewellers where I got it from, I deliberately took it to another place. They checked it thoroughly and said that it was ok.

Thanks for the advice though!
