Disaster - Demaged my engagement ring!!

For various reasons, I passed out last night several times and one time, I caught my ring on the door latch and it has gone out of shape. I have only had it about 3 weeks (replaced a faulty one) and it is platinum.
Does anyone know if I willbe able to get it fixed? Its all out of shape at the back - fortunately, the stones and shoulders are undamaged.
I'm absolutey devastated that I have damaged it and I will be heartbroken if I cant get it fixed.

BLU, I'd take it straight to the jewellers - they might be able to fix it on the spot if the damage is straightforward. If the band is twisted, it's unlikely, but they could send it off to have a new band put on.
If the shoulders, setting and stone are fine, get it done asap - before the setting has a chance to loosen (the tension of the band often adds to the strength of the setting).
Good luck and don't worry - I'm sure it can be salvaged.

I had a ring (not my engagement ring, but that kind of style) squashed almost flat when I shut my hand in a door - took lots of hand cream/oil to get it off, even after running my hand under a cold tap for ages! Local jeweller managed to fix it fine. Worth getting the setting checked as the slightest change in the band can loosen the setting and you risk losing stones. Have worn it happily for years since.0

Your ring can either be straightened or if it needs to be remoulded thats not a problem....take it to a jeweller who has a workshop and it will be a fairly simple process...dont worry...
Before we married I wore my engagement ring all the time and forgot to take it off once when decorating and using sandpaper...I managed to damage the band quite significantly...but a couple of days with the jeweller and it came back as good as new!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

If you took out insurance on your ring then this should cover the repares:kisses3: Married 29th September 2012

Being platinum it really shouldn't get bent like that. Maybe go to a different jeweller and check quality?
And house insurance should cover damage to the ring.
Good luck n let us know how you get onGaffa tape is like the Force; It has a Dark side, a Light sideand it holds the universe together0 -
well I took it to the jewellers in town and they have fixed it!!!! There is a slight nick out off it, but hardly visible. You would hardly know that I had damaged it!!
