Hello.
I need to know about inheriting my father's house. In his will it has been left to me alone. As a married women would this mean it automatically becomes my husbands house as well? or could I keep it in my name only. We would both want the house to be in my name only.
Many thanks.

if your father leaves you a house in his will then it will become your house. You can then do whatever you like with it and it has nothing to do with your husband.0

lovely, that's what we needed to know. Kind regards.0

You will have to write a will to distribute your estate as you wish. If no will is written, then your husband would inherit your fathers house under intestacy rules - if you are still married on your death.0
