Hi everyone,
First i'd just like to say thanks to everyone who offers support and advice on the forum as i've read so much helpful posts and even other peoples storys.
Four weeks ago i had an offer accepted on my first home, but it's only just hit me!
I'm getting slightly anxious now and i love the feeling, however whats made me like this is that i am currently in a rented property which i move out from on the 13th July.
There is no chain involved in my purchase and no one lives in the house i am buying and the vendor wanted to push the sale through asap.
This week i was supposed to be going to my solicitors to go through the contracts but they still havent recieved my mortgage offer, i called the bank and they said they wanted MORE paperwork, another copy of a pay slip and another proof of address (which they have had around 3 times now) does anyone know why they do this???
Anyway sorry fro rabling but my main question is once the solicitor does have my mortgage offer and i go in and sign, how quick normally can completion and exchange be done??
Thanks!

Glad I'm not the only one finding this! Not sure how many proof of addresses they need- I'm tempted to just send back the letters we get from them! :rotfl:
Not sure about the timescales, our offer was accepted about 2 weeks ago and we seem to be around the same stage, I'm hoping that once the mortgage is properly approved (fingers crossed) it will be smoothe sailing but I think I am rather getting my hopes upOurs is a leasehold so will probably take longer than yours.
I think a lot of the time can be spent just waiting for the solicitors to communicate with each other... hopefully the slow housing market at the moment means they aren't exactly snowed under!0
