I am flying from Belfast to Bristol in March 2007, and then travelling down to Boscastle. Does anyone know if there is a rail service to Boscastle from Bristol or should I just hire a car and travel down by road.
many thanks

The north Devon/Cornwall coast is in something of a railway desert as the mainline sticks near the south coast and Boscastle is north of Dartmoor. You can get the train to Exeter, then bus 510 to Camelford

and then a 524 or 594 to Boscastle

It's a bit of an epic bus journey (over 3 hours) but the good news is that you can buy a day ticket from the driver and do it for 5 pounds.
Not easy by public transport!0 -
