Pop-up sink plugs

I have one of those slightly annoying pop up plugs in my bathroom sink. The sink is not holding water - do I need to replace the rubber O'ring? or the whole plug bit? or shall I just throw the plug bit away & buy a plug on a chain?!!
I'd like to get it sorted ...

Just try replacing the rubber o-ring first."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

do you reckon I'll find a suitable O'ring at Wilkos or B&Q?0

Sometimes the adjustment on these slackens. You could try lifting the plug out. Underneath it should be a couple of adjusting nuts. Set them so that the plug sits better in the outflow.0

and sometimes they never seal 100%, no matter how many times you adjust the screw/nuts.Get some gorm.0
