Milk Theft Drama and My Boss

More of a rant than anything as we have been made redundant so it will all resolve its self in the end.
This morning minding my own business in the break room at work. Eating my cornflakes, supping tea and reading a good book. Chilling before the working day begins (I commute, so to allow for bad traffic I am normally in a half hour to forty five mins before the office starts to fill up)
The unit manager walks in the to room clocks me and goes over to start the kettle then wanders over to stand by me. Without a hello or similar said "that your cornflakes?" Confused at the question I replied "Err, yes" He then goes a fantastic beetroot red and barks "you admit it then!" by now I am very confused "sorry, what are you talking about?" I said being utterly baffled. He then goes off on a rant about how I had just admitted to stealing works milk for my cereal and he was going to see me out on my ear.
I looked on in awe at the absolute tantrum he was pulling, shuddering jowls, red face and spitty words….. and then i just got up walked over to the fridge pulled out a carton of milk with my name handily scrawled on it…. pointed at milk carton, then to me and then to the bowl. (works milk is in glass bottles)
At which point he imploded. Apparently we now have a meeting with HR later because I was flippant, unprofessional and cavalier in my response to a very serious (?) accusation.
Tusk, the man is a donkey. Thank goodness he is not my direct line manager or my managers superior. But sadly regardless he does outrank everyone in the office even if he is not responsible for us. He was shunted over to this unit rather than be made redundant and hates us all. You may have seen the earlier thread where he demanded total silence from all staff all the time. He accused me of not being disabled and it was just an excuse for being lazy. His background is pure clerical and hates the phones/email with a vengeance (We are an inbound customer service line) so has rants about how we are all talking to much (on the phones) and will shout over the unit to 'gawd damn shut up!'.
The HR thing will be a farce as there are no witnesses to the event so it will be a waste of everyone's time and I am well known from bringing my own cornflakes and milk in.
Normally I would be incandesent with rage but there is no point getting excited by it all as in a few weeks we are redundant. (Not him though)

Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...

Even if you had used the company-owned milk for your own cornflakes, presumably the milk is supplied for consumption by employees anyway, isn't it?
Have you been told it is a disciplinary hearing or not? If you have, then you need 24 hours notice of it."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
A HR meeting because you used your own milk on your own cornflakes? Has the world gone mad?
Make the guy look like a fool and ask for a written apology for his accusation0 -
Maybe they are having a purge of all conflakes eaters.
Does the HR boss like cornflakes? For your sake you better hope that he/she does!
Good that you are not taking it too seriously.
Sorry to hear that you have been made redundant.0 -
As per the very large sign:
The milk is for Tea and Coffee ONLY and to be used in reasonable amounts.
If there is the slightest whiff this is a disciplinary, I will be out of the meeting hollering for a Rep faster than you could say 'alleged milk theft'

If you are being made redunant anyway why not kick up a fuss about his behaviour?
Unprofessional and untrue accusations are probably worse for him.Kate short for Bob.

Absolutely unacceptable behaviour.
Sine you appear to be parting company anyway, be bullish in your response.

Kate/Bob,
Already been down that road. He has a Teflon position and when he verbally attacked, insulted and degraded a much loved member of the team into leaving the Whole Unit (45 ppl in total) made a formal complaint and it just was ignored.
Believe me we petitioned, stamped our feet, pleaded, cajoled and demanded that something be done and it was just strangled with red tape and died a death.
As did my complaint re the 'you are not disabled its just an excuse to be lazy' comment.
Being made redundant has been the best thing that has happened since he came here!

My earlier post took the matter a bit lightly in the spirit of the original post, but perhaps you need to take a strong stance. You may be made redundant, but this firm if it is a good firm will appreciate its employees being strong in these matters and not let bosses bully them.
It is this boss's problem. He made a mistake and was made to look like a fool. He should not take it out on you.0 -
Sounds completely horrendous, you're much better off out of there!0

If I was you I would quickly jot down exactly what happened and what was said - only the facts though. Take it in with you to your fact finding interview! You cant take the trousers off an elephant!0
