Credit Expert

The nice people at Credit Expert email me to tell me there is an alert on my account.

Sure enough, "CREDIT SALE search of your credit report by ROYAL & SUN ALLIANCE INSURANCE PLC"

I'd like to know what this is about, so I call their (Credit Expert's) number from the help page, and it is a Fax or something.

So I email the, and it bounces back.

I'd like to know how to contact ROYAL & SUN ALLIANCE, but CreditExpert have been about as useful as a chocolate fire-guard!

Does anyone have any ideas about ROYAL & SUN ALLIANCE? I looked at the website but I doubt I'll get anywhere unless I have an account with them?

They clearly think you've wanted an account with them (else they wouldn't have done the search) so why not call anyway? Just phone any number (or mail any address) you can find and take it from there.

Thanks, phoned the number on rsaconnect.rsagroup.co.uk/, and spoke to a lovely lady, very helpful.

I explained I've been on the Cifas protective register for a few years previously, now I'm not, I'm a little cautious about such things

She took my details and someone will call me back.

I can imagine that's rather worrying then. Let's hope it's something innocent and easily remedied and someone calls you soon. Let us know how you get on.

I got a call back from someone at RSA (aka More Than), they explained they'd had had a lot of calls concerning alerts sent out by Credit Expert referring to a Credit Sale from RSA, to people RSA have had no contact with.

RSA do not know what is going on, and why this is happening, and especially do not know why it should be flagged as a Credit Sale and not simply a Credit Check in the first place.

Thing is, RSA cannot contact Credit Expert about this!

I mentioned I phoned their number and it was a fax, so I email them and it bounced back.

Experian really need to sort out their customer service, they are happy to take my money every month, but not willing to provide a method of contact for me, or even other businesses like RSA. Not impressed!

I am impressed by the service I have received from Royal & Sun Alliance though, considering I'm not even a customer of theirs, and hence will remember More-Than when looking for insurance.

RSA are trying to ask Experian to remove this entry on my credit history, and everyone else it has affected, when they can contact them that is.

I suppose it's comforting to know it's not fraudulent activity. Hopefully it will be fully resolved soon.
