Is our heating system working properly (underfloor heating)?

Hi

We have recently moved into our new home (4 months ago) which was a new build. The house has underfloor heating throughout and as we are in summer we have turned on "summer mode" which basically should turn off all heating unless the thermostats detect a temp below 8c.

However, I am very dubious if the heating is set up correctly as the floor does feel warm at times and the boiler seems to be "working" 24/7. I am certainly no DIY expert, so not sure what to look for. We have had the developers back and they say its "all fine" (call me a cynic but they would though)!

Any suggestions on how we could go about getting someone independent to "audit" the system and make sure its all OK? Any ideas who we should ask? Companies we should seek?

Any advice would be great! :)

Does your boiler also heat the hot water? If so it could be an issue with a valve not keeping the hot water for the tank alone and sending it round the central heating as well. Try switching the water heating off & see what happens. If the floors go cold you will know this is the problem.

Get a proper person in to have a look.

Yeah it does heat the water as well. I will give that a go!

When you say "proper person" do you mean a underfloor heating specialist?

Or a general heating engineer. Preferably one recommended.

If it is the hot water going round the system you need to make sure any room thermostats ore off. This will stop the hot water doing the run of the central/underfloor heating.
