My sis travelled from India to US with her husband recently on BA flight. There was a halt at heathrow for a couple of hours after which they caught a connecting BA flight to chicaco.
However to there surprise on reaching the destination none of there 4baggages had reached, which left them in a miserable state as practically they were left with nothing at all.
Now it is 2 days and BA is telling them to wait another 3 to 4 days. My question is are they entitled to any compensation from BA for these days when they dont have there baggage, and what if there luggage has been lost already, how much compensation can they claim.
Can anyone who has knowledge of this pl help.
Thanks in advance.

Can't give you definite information on how much compensation but I was reading in the paper today that BA are having a real problem with baggage at the moment because of a computer glitch. They are driving cases all over Europe. There was a definite mention of compensation in the region of £150 and maybe up to £800 if the bags take a longer time to be reunited with their owners0

I was actually surprised the other way at the weekend.
I went to Heathrow airport early Saturday to pick my friend and his kids up. He had brought his surfboard back with him from Australia. There was a mix up at the airport, and his surfboard wasn't around. He filled in the forms he was told, and they said they would be in touch. We were sitting chatting at his place about lunchtime, BA called and told him delivery would be before 2PM. They arrived about 1.30PM.
I was very impressed. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
